1840 Old Florida Map

Rhea Chiles, wife of U.S. Senator and Governor Lawton Chiles, was a grand Floridian in her own right.  Many are unaware that Rhea was quite an accomplished painter.  In the 1960’s Rhea painted an “1840 Old Florida Map” for longtime friend Judge Richard Bronson to hang in his chambers.  After the judge retired, the painting went missing, but it was discovered at an estate sale in Lakeland.

In Mrs. Chiles’ honor, the 1840 Old Florida Map is being reproduced to benefit Florida House.  The giclée reproductions are printed on canvas and are shipped in a tube.  They are an impressive size, 25″ wide and 40.5″ tall and a striking piece of art for your home, beach or mountain house or business office.  The reproductions are suitable for gallery-wrapping or framing.  These unique giclées sell for $399.00.  A portion of the cost is tax deductible and you will be receive the appropriate documentation.
